Student of the Year 2016Sibrina Beukes (Golden Grove), Casey Stoneman (King’s Baptist) and William Fay( Pedare) receiving at the Rotary Club of Golden Grove Student of the Year awards.

As has been the case for many years the club has found it very difficult to pick the most outstanding student of the year as all the applicants were outstanding. However the selection panel finally decided on William (Billy) Fay as the overall student of the Year. Congratulations to Billy and the other two finalists and the club wishes well in the future and expects that it will continue to hear good things about them all.

Isabella and Robert are pictured above with our NYSF Co-ordinator, Rotarian Mathew.

In the very competitive field of National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) selection, we congratulate Isabella on her success. She will be attending the NYSF in Canberra next January.

Isabella and her father, Robert, joined us at last night’s meeting when she talked a little about her expectations and dreams of her future in the field of science.

All Club members are happy to be sponsoring Isabella and we wish her well. We’re looking forward to welcoming her back to a Club meeting in the New Year to hear about her experiences.

They have both kindly offered to assist our Club at a fundraising bbq next month.

DSC09123Our Changeover Dinner was held on Monday the 27th of June at the Golden Grove Tavern, it was attended by several guests from District 9500 and from our neighbouring clubs as well as our partners. We also welcomed representatives from Bendigo Bank and the Tea Tree Gully Historical Society, and some Past Members.

Outgoing President Rob presented his years Annual Report, and installed our new President Keith Rendell. President Keith introduced his new board, that will lead the club for the next twelve month.

It was a very enjoyable evening, with a lot of old acquaintances being renewed.
