Christmas Giving 2015

Donation of Christmas Hampers to Local Families

This year we continued a tradition which was initiated in 2010 whereby we delivered 25 substantial Christmas Hampers to 25 local families identified by The Salvation Army. Collection and distribution schedule coincided with several days of extremely hot weather and limited resources but the hampers were individually delivered over a two day period.

Our couriers, Otto, Ron and Keith are pictured  ‘doing their thing’ separately below.

A Little Ray of Giving

For the second year we have been pleased to collaborate with Ray White North East Office in order to light up Christmas for those who need it most.

Ray White promoted the initiative by installing a giving tree in their North East Road Valley View office. Local people were invited to place a wrapped gift under the tree and our club undertook to arrange for the collection and distribution of these gifts.

On Friday 18 December 2015 Otto was able to collect 22 donated gifts from Ray White and deliver these to National Pharmacies branch at Tea Tree Plaza, a designated collection point for KickStart for Kids, a not for profit charity which helps disadvantaged school children in South Australia.

We applaud the community spirit shown by Ray White Real Estate, National Pharmacies and KickStart for Kids.

Sangpien’s Thai Dinner 2015

A number of the club members were again able to enjoy a beautiful Thai dinner which was hosted by Sangpien and Steven in their home.

Sangpien showed us a short video of her last visit to her home town in Thailand and the things she could do with money raised from these dinners. Sangpien also introduced us to Modeste, a Burundian with whom he worked with during his visit to Burundi.

We also celebrated Ian’s birthday.
